First of all, which tar of Sage did you download ?

On the other hand, could you provide more information on your system
if you know them:
 - architecture (32 or 64 bits fedora)
 - the version of fedora you use
 - the version of the standard C library you have (glibc). It is in a
rpm called glibc apparently (see
http://www.rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=glibc)
