Dear Sages,

I just did a fresh install of sage on my Arch laptop. I have previously
been using gap by itself successfully. However, when I try to run a "gap"
command in sage, it crashes. Here is the output:

GAP, Version 4.7.8 of 09-Jun-2015 (free software, GPL)
Architecture: x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu-gcc-default64

/home/henry> uname -a
Linux xps13 4.2.5-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Oct 27 08:13:28 CET 2015 x86_64
GNU/Linux

sage

sage: G = PermutationGroup(['(1,2,3)(4,5)'])
sage: G.order()
** Gap crashed or quit executing 'SetUserPreference("HistoryMaxLines",
30);' **
Restarting Gap and trying again
** Gap crashed or quit executing '$sage1:=Group([PermList([2, 3, 1, 5,
4])]);;' **
Restarting Gap and trying again
** Gap crashed or quit executing 'SetUserPreference("HistoryMaxLines",
30);' **
Restarting Gap and trying again

This must have a very simple resolution, but at this point I am stuck.
 Google searches turned up nothing helpful. Any pointers would be
appreciated.

Best wishes,
Henry Laxen
