Thank you for your help, Dima.

I had version 6.3.0 of gcc installed. I tried to downgrade it but I was not
able to. I also installed gfortran. Then I unistalled gcc, g++ and gfortran
and installed them again (I was trying to install version 5.4.0, but failed
again!).

Then I tried to install again and the installation stopped with an error
about linbox. I just started it again and it seems to be progressing past
linbox, so I think it's making progress. I'm just gonna keep trying.

Thanks again.
Bernardo.
