Specifically, I cd to SAGE_ROOT and start

(Preferably, access to it...).
OK, got it. I need to issue several `local/bin/sage-starts` within a short
period of time on Debian x86_64. Then I get the orphans! Otherwise, not. A
race condition, of sorts?
