Another approach to parallel building (not that we want to throw away all
of this work): [https://bitbucket.org/birkenfeld/sphinx/pull-request/108
/wip-parallel-build-experimentation/diff a proposed patch to Sphinx]. I
don't know if using this proposal would affect Sphinx's memory usage,
though, which is another issue that is helped by breaking up the reference
manual.
