The crash is:
* not happening on vanilla 5.7.beta1
* happening on vanilla 5.7.beta2
So it might be the case that #12215 is not the culprit but it looks like
it is involved from the backtraces produced.
Maybe its the combination of tickets in beta2 which triggers the errors.
Remember just how problematic it was to reproduce the problem caused by
#715 et al.
