 It used to work and I used it at some point to deal with the nice random
 failures caused by the introduction of weak caches of #715.
 Note the optional spkg we currently propose is really old (and surely
 dysfunctional on most systems), but there's an update rotting at #13060.
 I wouldn't mind making valgrind working again a follow-up ticket as I'm
 not actively using it right now.
