Needs a bit of work. The limit is in pixels (dots), not dots per inch.
{{{2^15}}} dots per inch would be impressive indeed. Notice also that
[http://matplotlib.1069221.n5.nabble.com/the-32768-pixel-limit-
tt30382.html#none apparently this could be raised] if one really wanted
to.
I'll add a reviewer patch momentarily.
