I haven't looked at the patch yet, but I want to keep an eye on it, and I
want to advocate uniformity: try to make the mutability behavior and
interface the same as that of Sage's matrices.
I'd be happy if we got immutable graphs. I'd be very happy if we could
add/delete/contract and get a copy of the graph without explicitly saying
"inplace=False" all the time, but one can dream...
