That would be an easy solution.
Anyway, as I'm now trying to understand ATLAS magical build system, I'll
try to solve the other thread related problems as well (not hitting Sage
at the moment, but if we plan on supporting FreeBSD that will be a
problem, or debian/sparc).
Also note that taurus and lena do not look that obsolete and exotic.
