I have no idea what might be the issue here. I've checked
[http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/4327] and the patch there seems
to agree with mine. I've downloaded & built another beta4 and applied it
directly (i.e. patch -p1 < trac_13735_fix_repr_lincomb.patch) and it went
without any problems.
