 Can you create a `.p1` and test that on Cygwin?

 (Interestingly, the patches still apply, modulo offsets for the patch to
 `configure`, which IMHO aren't worth fixing, since that just bloats
 Mercurial history).

 And if so, also change `--with-readline=...` to `--with-readline=yes`,
 with a remark that only yes/no is supported.

 [P.S.: Just noticed the Cygwin patch is indeed very unlikely to no longer
 apply... B) ]
