Comment (by chapoton):

 I am not able to sort things out.

 It seems that the import of IPython occurs because of the line
 {{{
 from IPython.core.formatters import PlainTextFormatter
 }}}
 in "sage.misc.displayhook"

 Is there a way to avoid this IPython import ?
