Here is something integeresting^(tm)^, if I put the `freeall(a)` and
`freeall(b)` '''after''' the `scan(POW_SYM,c)` line then I get the correct
answers. As in...

This means that the problem seems to be in the initialization of `c`
(through the `scan`) and ''not'' in the calculation of `d`.
