Im my opinion (some people might disagree), yes, you should, since it is
very unlikely that anyone has based anything on the last state of your
branch. There is no need to be religious about history rewrites, one just
needs to avoid forcing people to do rebases.
To remove the merge commit, just do `git rebase HEAD^ --onto HEAD^^` on
your branch (and then `git push -f` to push the modified branch to trac).
