Note that the version of {{{readlink}}} which is included in fink (in
package {{{debianutils}}}) supports the {{{-f}}} switch, so a mac with
fink doesn't suffer from this issue (asuming {{{/sw/sbin}}} is before
{{{/usr/bin}}} in the search PATH).
