 If none of what we've suggested so far on sage-devel appears to fit, I
 still think your algorithm or function(s) isn't designed well, and you can
 always implement your custom cache explicitly with a few lines of code
 (including some projective cache which just stores whether a solution
 exists, but not the solution itself, in case you want to stay with the
 boolean `existence` parameter).

 Otherwise I'd suggest to probabky implement ''a different'' decorator
 instead.
