 Hi!  Thanks for keeping at this.  I'll try to look at it one final time
 soon - waiting for the latest beta to compile.  In the meantime:

 I like the renaming and doctesting of the missing assumption function, and
 I agree with your analysis of the Maxima 'parameters', as you call them -
 yes, those are completely separate from Sage.  I would encourage you to be
 even more explicit than
 {{{
 The parameter ``x`` is different from the symbolic variable::
 }}}
 by saying something about it being a ''Maxima'' parameter versus ''Sage''
 symbolic variable.  Does that make sense?

 Also, don't worry too much about the 'todo' in
 `doc/en/constructions/calculus.rst`.  That is truly ancient, from the days
 where legendary heroes of yore managed to bring calculus functionality,
 despite awkward syntax, into an algebraic geometry program... meaning
 eventually that should be just rewritten to use "native syntax" or just
 folded into the calculus documentation.
