 With the updated valgrind they are the only errors while running the
 testsuite(!). Trivial to spot. Its possible that they are false positives
 if you use only certain bit positions, but zeroing out the memory doesn't
 cost much in terms of runtime and can save us a lot of work if your
 calculations about bit patterns are off by one ;-)
