 I'm just now looking at this ticket and personally I don't like to lose
 the ability to compute with relations. I think that the fact that `(a ==
 b)^2` returns `a^2 == b^2` is a feature, not a bug. I'd say it's up to the
 user to ensure that the operation makes sense.

 Would it be possible to keep the old behaviour for equalities `==` at
 least?
