Perhaps a `def isolating_interval(self)` method of `NumberFieldElement`
and an analogous function for `QQbar`?
Using such a function properly, you wouldn't need to consider the case of
multiple `candidates`, it's better to ''ensure'' a priori that you have
only a single candidate.
