 it's surprising to users if save_session() uses data but save doesn't use

 In which case perhaps that should be added too.  The point is that in the
 notebook a new user will not know that everything is cell-specific, and
 will want to treat it like a Sage CL session.  In which case there ''is''
 a default directory, `pwd`, right?
