Comment:

 As Karl-Dieter says in comment:8 it is not desirable to switch back and
 forth with Maxima domain commands, so I don't think your patch is the
 right way to solve it, esp. since you don't get the right result, either.
 Presumably the failure of assumption should be reported upstream.
