@Travis: here is the main thing I want you to address before I review the
Clifford & Weyl stuff in this ticket:

Another issue with the Clifford-Weyl part of this patch: The Clifford
algebra is graded by default, whereas the Weyl algebra is graded [oops: I
meant filtered here] by default. There is no reason why there should be
different behavior here; the Weyl algebra is Z/2-graded as much as the
Clifford one is.
