I thought that this was orthogonal to the "embedded information" question.
In the sense that it is not format's job to remove the information.
Where would it be relevant? When doing `obj?`? What happens when `obj?` is
typed? I guess `sagedoc.format` is applied in that case, but ''what'' is
it applied to?
