 Thank you! The patch looks good to me as far as I can tell (I don't
 personally use pickles).

 Can you take a quick look at my latest changes? Your setstate made me
 realize that there was an ugly hack in ribbon_shaped_tableau.py, which
 looked easy enough to get rid of.
