oops, this is a bug in MPIR; reported here,
https://groups.google.com/d/msg/sage-devel/Tu-egDn-zLw/0S5ouau2J1AJ
but not yet fixed (basically, can be worked around by editing mpir.h and
gmp.h).
This happens after we went to gcc 4.9, where this shows up.
