Now I tried compiling GMP with {{{--disable-shared --enable-assert
--enable-alloca=debug CFLAGS="-g -O2 -pedantic -m64 -mtune=k8"}}} (the
latter is the default CFLAGS plus "-g"), and there seem to be no crashes.
This suggests the problem is not in the GMP assembly code.
