 I'm pretty sure this will not end up fixing most of the problems and it
 feels like we're hacking around the problem. At the very least as a better
 patch, I think we could solve a host of issues by just checking if the
 type is affine and if the crystal is not in finite crystals to pass
 `extended=True`. However I will fix the RC code and test a bunch of the
 different models in affine type as soon as I'm able to today.
