Change documentation of the notebook to a uniform format and complete
notebook doctest/documentation coverage.
* Some docstrings are improperly formatted.
* The formatting of docstrings is inconsistent, e.g.:
Some have:
{{{
Output: footype
Description
}}}
While others have:
{{{
Output:
- footype -- description
}}}
etc.
