New commits:
- changes to `gauss_sum()` and `gauss_sum_numerical()` over `QQbar` should
be done on the new ticket #19056 (it does not seem to be essential for
this ticket, `gauss_sum()` and `gauss_sum_numerical()` should behave
differently, and we should add doctests)
- use correct precision in computation of root number in `lseries()`
- clean up whitespace
