Here is David Kirkby's updated ECL package with all changes checked in his
name:

I deleted the empty directory "build" and the file "ecl-9.8.4-cvs-13th-
Sept-2009.spkg", which is about 46 bytes. As I'm listed as an author,
someone other than David and myself should review this ticket. A thorough
test would be to compile the latest alpha release of Sage from source with
this updated ECL package, on various platforms including t2.
