Comment:
I rebased the branch (as best as I could), and I did get an error with
letterplace:

sage: F.<x> = FreeAlgebra(ZZ, implementation='letterplace')
sage: x**2
0
}}}
I am also getting a variety of failures in testing the `rings/polynomial`
folder, but most of them seem to be related to constructing ideals. I
haven't run tests elsewhere.
