Comment:

 I don't see what the reported bug is. Note that the
 `InfinitePolynomialRing` has nothing to do with symbolics.

 What is the problem in the first example?

 If you want comparisons to remain symbolic, you should use symbolic
 variables that are declared with `var()`.
