I've looked at this pretty carefully before. The examples I give above
seem to work. I presume that your incorporation of my blending patch is a
positive review of that part. All doctests pass in plot/* and
plot/plot3d/*. I also played around with it a bit more and it seems like
everything is very nicely done. So positive review!
