mhansen's patch works for me. Since I wrote the original patch, I can't
give the whole thing a positive review. I'll positively review mhansen's
patch, though, and mvngu's instructions

3-5 in particular (patching spkg/install and spkg/standard/deps, and
removing pyprocessing...spkg).
I'm attaching complete versions of the modified versions of install and
deps, for completeness.
