Current patch has sage-spkg actually check the exit code to see if the
spkg passed the checksum test.
I should add that I've modified my proposal above ever so slightly; the
checksum file in the spkg is now named "spkgname-version.downloaded.cksum"
(e.g., atlas-4.0.3.p2.downloaded.cksum) to make clear where it came from;
the computed checksums are named similarly, but "computed" instead of
"downloaded".
