 Well, {{{bash}}} 3.0 was released nearly six years ago (and there are pre-
 built binaries of it available), so I'd say it ''should'' be OK to make it
 a prerequisite - it's central and ubiquitous, and I'd call 2.x deprecated.

 But that's only ''my'' opinion, though in general I'd prefer omitting as
 much GNUism as possible, trying to stay within POSIX scope (which for
 example the shell's {{{trap}}} mechanism is).
