 OK, this is clear. We need to check if we didn't nuke the old .hg/,

 OK, this is clear too (although this seems to be against the historic way
 cvxopt spkg was created)

 I don't get this. Are you saying that patches cannot be just files that
 are ready to be copied, that they must be diffs, and the spkg-install must
 be patching rather than copying?
