 You can install it as a virtual machine on Windows or Linux if you wanted.

 Sure, I've done that. The package now builds 64-bit on !OpenSolaris when
 SAGE64 is set to yes. I've also tested this on Linux (sage.math) and OS X
 (bsd.math). It builds fine on all platforms.
