will put these files into a Mercurial repository, and make dealing with
them reasonable, instead of the current mess. #9433 should actually be
pretty easy to review.
Yes, I just didn't mention this one since it was a meta-ticket. I don't
feel technically capable of it (not knowing ins and outs of hg), otherwise
I would have done so weeks ago :(
