For what it's worth, with 4.5.3.alpha0 +
[http://sage.math.washington.edu/home/mpatel/trac/8059/singular-3-1-1-4.p0.spkg
singular-3-1-1-4.p0.spkg] + [attachment:singular-3-1-1-4.2.patch], the
long doctests pass for me on bsd and sage.math.
