 I'm looking at this because of the discussion on sage-devel
 (https://groups.google.com/group/sage-
 devel/browse_thread/thread/9dfadbdaf74a2eec)...and I don't understand this
 at all. How does it work? In what sense would you have concurrent
 branches? How does this help with automated testing? I'd like to help
 review this, but it's not at all clear what is going on here.
