I disagree. Personally, I wouldn't expect `pipestatus` to behave in a way
that the first argument influences the second. For me, the command line
arguments to `pipestatus` are like "blocks" and should not be split. In
other words, I expect

pipestatus "A && B" "C"
}}}
to behave like
{{{
(A && B) | (C)
}}}
