The reason for this seems to be that
{{{sage.rings.polynomial.pbori.BooleanPolynomialRing.__contains__}}} tries
a coercion and only catches {{{TypeError}}}, while the failing coercion
raises a {{{ValueError}}} (in
{{{sage.rings.polynomial.pbori.BooleanPolynomialRing._coerce_c_impl}}} ).
