 Nearly every linux machine I've tried, with a few exceptions where
 {{{uname -m}}} and {{{uname -p}}} give the same output.

 Example (a 64 bit Gentoo machine):

 {{{
 mira: ~ > uname -m
 x86_64
 mira: ~ > uname -p
 Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3220 @ 2.40GHz
 }}}
