 So this is certainly not OSX-specific.

 it turns out that cached_function won't work in Cython at all, so indeed
 this needs to be changed.
 The cumulative patch 6391.6.patch fixed this, as well, as it supersedes
 the previous 4 patches.

 To install for Sage 4.6.1, install the updated spkg, and this patch.
