 Since I didn't really know where these should be used, or what the context
 was, I decided to just leave them in but fully commented out, with an
 admonition to add documentation if they ever get used again.  (This would
 also make it easier for a future developer to use them, inter alia.)

 Getting some doctest failures, though, related to this:
 {{{
 sage -t  devel/sage/sage/plot/plot3d/plot_field3d.py # 6 doctests failed
 }}}
 I doubt this will be hard to resolve.  Anyway, just status updates...
