I checked this one with Bill Hart, who knows much more about these things
than I, and he reckons that the implementation looks correct; I've run the
tests and it seems to be fine. My only contribution has been to qfold
everything and adjust some of the reference manual formatting, so I guess
that doesn't need a separate review.
Apply only the last patch.
