Hi Dave,

tar (GNU tar, version 1.17 or later)

is not quite right. On MacOSX the tar is a BSD tar:

$ tar --version
bsdtar 2.6.2 - libarchive 2.6.2
}}}
Perhaps GNU tar is a Solaris-only requirement...
